Stay in control.
When the computer still starts, reaches the internet, and shows the problem on screen, many software, account, update, backup, application, file-access, and configuration issues can be handled without transporting the device.
Is this a remote-support problem?
The fastest decision is not what the error says—it is whether the computer and customer can provide a safe working path into the issue.
Reachable on screen
- Computer starts and reaches the desktop
- Internet stays connected
- Customer can reproduce the symptom
- Problem is software, settings, accounts, files, backup, or configuration
Mixed evidence
- Slow or unstable behavior may involve hardware
- Large migration or provider dependency
- Important data has uncertain backup
- Intermittent issue may not reproduce
Physical path required
- No power, no desktop, or repeated shutdown
- Liquid, burning smell, physical damage
- Hardware replacement or internal work
- Clicking, unreadable, or failing storage
What can be handled through the screen?
The approved session can combine related software and configuration work on one reachable computer. Physical work, advanced recovery, and unrelated projects stay separate.
Windows & Linux
Startup behavior, updates, services, settings, permissions, drivers, packages, repositories, and visible operating-system errors.
Applications
Install, update, configure, or repair legitimate supported software and validate the customer’s normal workflow afterward.
Accounts & cloud
Synchronization, profiles, email clients, storage accounts, and approved sign-in settings while the customer keeps credentials under their control.
Files & storage
Readable file locations, permissions, capacity, cloud folders, network shares, mounts, and organization problems.
Backup review
Schedules, destinations, exclusions, retention, capacity, visible failures, and representative restore testing from accessible backups.
Network & browser
Computer-side connectivity, DNS symptoms, browser behavior, private-service access, approved VPN/tunnel behavior, and reachable shares.
Guided setup
User preferences, accessibility, browser defaults, already-connected printers or peripherals, file associations, and nonphysical configuration.
Project follow-up
Validate an earlier migration, OS installation, private system, backup configuration, or other completed project without assuming unlimited support.
One connection. Six deliberate stages.
The session begins with customer authorization, stays visible while work is performed, and ends only after the original workflow is tested and temporary access is closed.
PRESENTApprovals · credentials · decisions
Authorize
Confirm device, problem, temporary access, and stopping point.
Reproduce
Show the original error or behavior before changing anything.
Inspect
Review relevant logs, versions, settings, storage, and dependencies.
Correct
Apply only the approved software or configuration change.
Validate
Restart where needed and repeat the customer’s real workflow.
Close
Document the result, explain limits, and end temporary access.
Remote work has a physical boundary.
Screen evidence can point toward hardware trouble, provider restrictions, data risk, or a larger project. It cannot replace physical inspection or specialist recovery.
Preserve the device and data when the evidence moves outside safe software-only work.
Dead system, blank display, repeated shutdown, or operating system that cannot stay reachable.
PHYSICAL DIAGNOSTICComponent replacement, cleaning, thermal work, ports, battery, memory, drives, internal cabling, or board concerns.
IN-PERSON SERVICEClicking, disappearing storage, unreadable media, severe corruption, liquid/impact damage, or irreplaceable files without backup.
SHUT DOWN / RECOVERYIdentity review, organization management, billing restriction, ownership dispute, or policy-controlled access.
OWNER / PROVIDER PATHBe ready at the computer when the session begins.
Preparation keeps the appointment focused on the actual problem instead of searching for the right device, account, error, backup, or connection path.
- ComputerCorrect device reaches the affected Windows or Linux desktop.
- InternetConnection can remain available through screen sharing and downloads.
- PowerAdapter connected; unrelated work saved before possible restarts.
- AccountsOwner can enter required credentials and authentication directly.
- DataImportant readable files and current backup status reviewed first.
- PrivacyUnrelated private documents, communications, and notifications closed.
01What kinds of problems can remote support help with?
Operating-system settings, update failures, application repair, account and synchronization issues, readable file-access problems, storage-capacity questions, backup status, browser behavior, reachable network services, startup configuration, and other issues that can be observed or changed from a functioning desktop.
02Do you support both Windows and Linux?
Yes. Exact capability depends on the operating-system version, Linux distribution or desktop environment, permissions, security software, application support, network restrictions, and whether the device is organization managed.
03Does the computer need to turn on and connect to the internet?
Usually yes. The affected computer should reach a usable desktop, open the approved support method, and remain connected. No power, no desktop, severe instability, or an internet outage can require another service path.
04Do I need to stay at the computer during the appointment?
Yes unless another arrangement was explicitly approved. You may need to reproduce the problem, enter private credentials, approve restarts or changes, answer questions, and verify the result.
05Will Circuit Craftworks have permanent access to my computer?
No. Temporary, customer-visible access is used by default. You initiate the connection, can observe or end it, and the temporary connection closes when the approved session concludes.
06How are passwords and authentication codes handled?
You should type passwords, PINs, authentication codes, payment details, recovery information, and encryption secrets directly. Do not send them through an ordinary service-request message.
07What if the problem turns out to be hardware or a failing drive?
Remote work stops at a safe point. Hardware problems move to physical service; clicking, repeatedly disconnecting, unreadable, or otherwise failing storage may require shutdown and specialist recovery rather than more remote troubleshooting.
08Is the problem guaranteed to be fixed in one appointment?
No. A responsible outcome may be a validated repair, a partial correction with known limitations, evidence supporting another service, or a documented issue that could not be reproduced. Additional time or a different project is approved separately before extra work proceeds.

Show the problem on the computer where it happens.
Send the affected Windows or Linux device, exact symptom, recent changes, any visible error, whether the desktop and internet still work, the importance of the data, and what needs to work when the session ends.
