Frequently Asked Questions
Do you charge a diagnostic fee?
Yes. Diagnostics take real time and skill, so they are charged. The current fee and whether it is credited toward an approved repair are listed on the Pricing page.
Will you tell me the cost before you start?
Always. You get findings and an estimate, and nothing beyond the agreed diagnostic happens without your approval.
Do you work on Macs?
Yes. We handle both Windows PCs and Macs.
Do you only fix phones?
We are a computer repair company. Laptops, desktops, gaming PCs, and the home network around them are our focus.
Is my data safe?
We access only what the repair requires, we do not browse personal files, and we do not sell customer data. We also cannot guarantee data recovery, which is why we ask everyone to keep their own backups.
Do you guarantee data recovery?
No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. Some failures are recoverable, some are not, and physically damaged media needs a specialist cleanroom lab. We will tell you honestly which situation you are in and refer you on when that is the right call.
Should I back up before bringing my computer in?
Yes, whenever the machine still powers on. It is the single best thing you can do to protect yourself before any repair.
Will you need my password?
Often yes, to test that the repair actually worked. We will explain what is needed and why, and we recommend changing it after the repair. Never send a password by ordinary email or through a web form.
