Slow Computer Tune-Up
“Slow” is a symptom, not a diagnosis. A tune-up should start by finding the actual cause rather than selling a vague optimisation package.
Signs you need this
- It takes minutes to become usable after starting
- Programs hang or take a long time to open
- Everything crawls when a few tabs are open
- The fan runs constantly during light use
- It was fine a year ago and is not now
What we do
- Measuring real bottlenecks: storage, memory, heat, or software
- Storage health checks and SSD upgrade recommendations where relevant
- Startup and background process review
- Cooling cleanup where heat is throttling performance
- Operating system and driver repair
- Removal of unwanted software that came with the machine
What to expect
The most common causes we find are a mechanical hard drive that should be an SSD, not enough memory for how the machine is actually used, heat causing throttling, or software problems. We will tell you which of those applies to your computer, and if the honest answer is that it is not worth spending money on, we will tell you that too.
Next step
Request a repair and describe what the computer is doing. We will tell you what we think is going on and what it will take to fix.
